About the Founder
Shuaq was initiated by Akezhan Meirkhanov – a teacher, not a test-prep marketer.
Akezhan holds a Bachelor's in Educational Studies from Colby College and has taught and worked across some of the world's most demanding educational environments: Phillips Academy Andover, the International School of Hellerup in Copenhagen, Lawrence High School in Maine, and the World Bank Group's Central Asia office.
He has also sat on the other side of the exams he now teaches – scoring 1570 on the SAT®, 139/140 on the national examination (“ЕНТ”), and A* in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology at A-Level. He builds Shuaq's method not from theory alone, but from having done the thing itself.
Today, while building Shuaq, he still teaches Biology in a public school in Almaty – he believes quality education should be within reach for every student who wants it.
Shuaq is the result of that conviction: a rigorous, honest, competency-based method, built by someone who has spent his career close to how learning really happens.
